AI Transparency & Technologies

1. Nature of the Service

Health App utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technologies to analyze images of laboratory reports. When you upload a document, you are interacting with an automated system, not a human medical professional.

2. Technology Providers (Sub-processors)

To provide state-of-the-art analysis, we transmit encrypted data to the following third-party AI providers:

  • Primary Processor: OpenAI Ireland Ltd. (Dublin, Ireland)
    • Purpose: Extraction of text and generation of health insights.
    • Data Privacy: Your data is processed via their Enterprise API. We have opted out of data training, meaning your health data is NOT used to train their models.

3. How It Works (The Logic)

Our system follows a specific automated pipeline:

  1. Digitization: We convert your image into text.
  2. Structuring: An AI model organizes this text into structured data (biomarker name, value, unit, reference range).
  3. Visualization: We plot these values on a timeline.
  4. Analysis: The AI compares your values against standard reference ranges to generate a summary.

4. Known Limitations (Risk Disclosure)

In compliance with the EU AI Act, we inform you of the following limitations:

  • Hallucinations: Generative AI can occasionally "hallucinate" (invent) numbers or misread similar-looking units (e.g., confusing mg/dL with mmol/L).
  • Context Blindness: The AI analyzes only the specific document provided. It does not know your full medical history, family genetics, or current medication unless explicitly provided in that document.

5. Human Oversight

This application is designed as a "Human-in-the-loop" system. You, the user, act as the human overseer. You are required to verify the digital numbers against the original paper report before making any health decisions.
